Many of our Tollywood heroes had given two or more hits in a row, but Mega Star Chiranjeevi had a rare record of giving two back to back blockbusters in the form of 'Indra' and 'Tagore'. 'Indra' is a faction based commercial entertainer released on 25th July, 2002. It broke all the previous industry records with respect to shares and run. This movie had completed 50 days in 156 centers, 100 days in 118 centers and 175 days in 32 centers. All these run records were all time long run records then. Besides, the movie also collected Rs.33 crores share and stood as the all time top grosser at that time.
'Tagore' released on 24th September, 2003. This message oriented emotional entertainer was directed by V.V.Vinayak. The long run records set by this movie surprised whole cine goers of AP. This movie had completed 50 days in 223 centers and 100 days in 182 direct centers. Even today, the 100 days record of this movie stood at second place after the industry hit Magadheera's 223 centers. This movie collected a share of around Rs.30 crores and stood as second best after 'Indra' then.
Chiranjeevi also had one more rare record of having two industry hits with a gap of just one super hit movie in between. Those movies are 'Gang Leader', 'Rowdy Alludu' and 'Gharana Mogudu'. Among those three movies, 'Gang Leader' and 'Gharana Mogudu' were industry hits, while 'Rowdy Alludu' got super hit result.
